I grudgingly picked up this figure from TRU, as I am a Clone Wars hater.  But based largely on Darth Dre’s review in our forums I decided to give it a shot.

It’s a very large figure, and it’s in a nice unique package, which made it all the more tempting to purchase for $14.99.  He’s shy of being super-articulated, as he has a swivel head, only one wrist, a somewhat limited waist, and swiveling ankles.  He can be posed in a few, sort of action-ish poses.  He has a couple of flip up shoulder cannons that you can reveal.  His major outstanding feature is his rotary quad blaster cannon.  The forward part of the cannon is removeable, should you wish to do so.  I feel that Hasbro could have made this canon a bit more play-friendly by having some kind of simple spinning feature.  If not a button, than at least a free spinning joint.  If you pose him with his cannon arm straight out, you can fudge this by spinning the ball jointed elbow, but I feel that too much of this will loosen and possibly ruin the joint.  I think that feature would have made this a much more fun figure.

As it is, it is simply impressive looking compared to other regular sized figures, and might look neat on a shelf.  I’m just not sure if I want it to be on MY shelf next to non-animated figures.

If you dig Clone Wars figures, you should definitely get this.  If not, I say it’s 50/50 at full price.
