This may be one of the better 5POA figures out there.  It’s not perfect, but the attention to detail is impressive.  The figure is also lightyears ahead of the previous release, a two-pack in the Rebels line.  That figure was given a second-class treatment, and Hasbro seems to have made efforts to correct that oversight for this member of the Ghost crew.

Sabine Wren has been through a lot in her young life.  Born into a Mandalorian clan, she went to the Imperial Academy, then became a bounty hunter, then joined a Rebel cell, then went back to Mandalore wielding the Darksaber, and then rejoined her cell as they grew into a part of the large Rebel Alliance.  Her life path has changed almost as many times as the colors of her uniform and hair.

Sabine’s sculpt is outstanding.  The figure leans to the left with an attitude fitting of the character.  It’s slightly non-neutral, but it works for this character.  The left arm is bent at the elbow at a right angle.  I’m not sure I like this, but on the positive side, you can actually pose the figure with that hand holding on to the grip of the holstered pistol, and it looks pretty bad arse.  The shape of the figure, along with all the various armor parts, is very well done.  Hasbro went all out on the paint applications here.  It’s one of the most colorful figures in recent memory, and there are tampos in several places.  Sabine’s starbird logo is painted on the breastplate.  There is a dejarik checkerboard on her right shoulder, and most impressively, an animal - possibly a stylized anooba - is on her left shoulder.  Sabine has had several different animals represented on her left shoulder, but she did have this image for a time.  It looks more like that Squidbillies thing, but it’s actually screen accurate.

The head is worth a separate discussion.  The sculpt is outstanding, the face is very finely painted and the hair has a great faded application of blue to teal.  The helmet is covered with tremendous detail, although an adjustable range finder would have been nice.  The helmet fits nicely over the head, albeit maybe a little too tightly.  The helmet is soft, and conforms to the head.  A nice touch is that Sabine’s hair peeks out from underneath the back of the helmet.

The figure comes with two pistols that fit perfectly inside each holster.  Sabine also grips each pretty tightly in either hand.  A Darksaber would have been an awesome accessory to include here, but instead, Hasbro opted for another zipline.  Ziplines are great, and we should all be excited about this, but probably for just this one case, we could have done without it and included a Darksaber.

Overall, this is a very cool 5POA cartoony figure.  The paint applications are incredible, the face sculpt and paint are outstanding, and the accessories work well with the figure.  The sculpt is excellent.  It’s a great looking figure.  Obviously, Sabine deserves the super-articulated and realistic treatment, as does the whole Ghost crew.  But for now, this isn’t a bad effort to hold us over until that day comes.  I’ll give this figure an outstanding 6.  That’s about as good as it gets for this format.
