Ok, back by overwhelming popular demand, we have another 5POA animated-styled figure based on Resistance!  Don’t ever let it be said that we don’t listen to our readers.  Well, there was that one time that guy requested that we do some stuff, but it was a lot of work, so we didn’t.  But other than that, we’re here to please.

Torra Doza is a member of the Aces, a group of fighter pilots who defend the Colossus.  She is also the daughter of the station commander, Captain Imanuel Doza.  While only 15, she’s a skilled pilot and racer.  I can only assume she was flying a starfighter when she was 10, and tried spinning, and blew up an attacking fleet.  Torra spends her days playing video games, which sounds awesome.  By the end of the first few episodes, she had become friendly with Kaz Xiono, but doesn’t yet know that he’s secretly a Resistance Spy.  She is aware, however, that he is a schmuck.

The colors of the figure struck me as reminiscent of my favorite cartoon as a kid, Battle of the Planets.  That show was awesome, even though it didn’t make much sense.  She is wearing a brightly colored flightsuit, like many of her Ace pilot mates, as well as like the other racers on the Platform.  It’s not immediately similar to much that we’ve seen in Star Wars before, but Resistance is doing a pretty good job of combining some new designs with the old familiar aesthetic.  The sculpt is pretty good, especially the face.  It’s expressive, and painted well, right down to the little tattoos she has on her cheeks.  As a youngster, Hasbro was wise not to include a blaster, but because of this, she comes across as being a bit of a cost saver in the first wave.  Maybe she could have come with a video game controller.  Now, she does make up for this with an interesting accessory.  Rather than having a removable helmet, like several of the other figures in the wave, she comes with a swappable head.  The reason is that the buns in her hair would not be able to be properly covered with a standard removable helmet, so Hasbro opted for the alternate accessory.  It’s well done, and is easily swapped.  The only downside is that if you want to pose her holding her helmet, you have to make sure the visor side is pointed away from view, or else you would see her decapitated head inside the helmet, and that would be weird.  So as usual, a little of the good is balanced with some bad.

So there you have it.  An interesting looking figure that definitely “pops” but fails to do much else.  Again, if you like the show, and if you aren’t averse to these cartoon-styled figures that can do very little except just stand there, then you’ll like this.  As it is, it doesn’t warrant being scored higher than the standard for such figures.  It gets a 3.
