Synara San joined the main crew on the Platform later on during the first part of Season 1. She was a member of a Pirate gang that intended to attack the platform. She found herself accidentally “rescued” by Poe Dameron and Kaz Xiono (a case of mistaken identity). Synara played along with the rescue, and essentially infiltrated Yeager’s crew, while still feeding key information to her gang. It remains to be seen to whose side she will end up being loyal. Synara is a Mirialan, which is the same species as Luminara Unduli, Bariss Offee, and Seventh Sister.
Synara San is a simply articulated figure, but has a striking design and color pallet. The sculpt is accurate to the on-screen animated figure (for better or for worse). Unlike Kaz Xiono, the figure does not have a separately sculpted jacket/vest. While being removable isn’t really important, the extra layer of plastic would add some depth to the overall aesthetic. On the other hand, unlike Kaz, this figure has a hip holster, to which I say, “Right on!” The paint applications overall are bit sloppy, with some random overspray and splotches around the figure, but the face is particularly well done. Between the tattoo, the eyes, and the lips, the overall effect is very good. She also has a ponytail which is sculpted to drape over her shoulder.
Synara is wearing a hodge podge outfit, befitting that of a galactic renegade. She’s got a racing jacket of sorts, a guard’s helmet, and some imperial looking boots and knee-guards. She sports a gold colored blaster, which she can grip tightly, and which fits nicely into the aforementioned holster. Synara also has a removable helmet, which is very strongly reminiscent of Tobias Beckett / Lando Calrissian’s guard helmet. The helmet is soft and pliable. It’s not a particularly bad thing in this case. It fits over the head easily, and is removed just as easily. When placed over the head, Synara’s eyes line up perfectly with the open visor slit, so again, it’s designed well.
Overall, a pretty good 5POA figure. The sculpt, colors, working holster, removable helmet, and general design give this figure a bit of an edge over a basic 5POA animated figure. Instead of a baseline 3, I’ll be kind and give it a 4.
