This set came out at the tail end of the short-lived TLJ 5POA product line.  It never made it to mass retail, as Hasbro stopped shipping TLJ product in time for the April 2018 launch of Solo.  As such, this set, along with the single-carded First Order Flametrooper and Resistance pilot C’ai Threnalli, were given to Entertainment Earth as exclusives.

This is standard 5POA fare, but a few nice twists make this set worth a look.  Phasma is a new figure, with arms that are sculpted to accommodate a THWG.  She can do a decent job of aiming her F-11D rifle.  It’s not great, but it’s better than the outstretched robot arms of most 5POA figures.  Phasma should have come with her smaller pistol, which she used in her confrontation with Finn on board the Supremacy.  Phasma comes with her chromium command staff, which can be wielded with two hands.  Of course, the flip side of having a pre-posed 5POA figure is that she can’t hold the staff at a resting position at her side.  You could remedy both problems (lack of pistol, lack of relaxed arms) by swapping accessories with other Phasma figures.  An interesting item that was (not surprisingly) omitted from this release would be a swap out damaged helmet, revealing part of Gwendolyn Christie’s face.  Otherwise, the figure is decent for what it is, not particularly different from other Phasma 5POA figures.  It has a removable cape, it stands well, and the paint applications are acceptable.

Finn is an all new figure.  Along with the previously released Rose in First Order Disguise, you can pretty much recreate the full execution scene.  Lack of articulation means Finn cannot be posed with hands cuffed, nor kneeling, nor pushed to floor in his pre-execution position.  He also can’t really do any hand-to-hand combat moves.  The set is obviously lacking in the ability to recreate the duel on which it is essentially based.

In addition to each character’s regular accessories, the set comes with 2 additional pieces.  Phasma comes with a Hasbro favorite of late, an enormous, off screen, shoulder-mounted weapon.  It actually isn’t the worst design in this Hasbro-imagined genre, but likely has no appeal for collectors.  There’s no projectile, which is fine, but it is articulated, so it can swing up or down.  For the other included accessory, Hasbro finally gave us the riot baton.  Finn picks one up to use when he attacks Phasma, against which she uses her command staff.  Alternatively, you can give this weapon to one of your FO Stormtroopers, thereby christening that stormtrooper as FN-2199 for you to re-enact the “Traitor!” scene on Takodana in TFA.

Phasma’s THWG and command staff, along with the all new FO disguised Finn and his riot baton make this worth consideration.  Unfortunately, TLJ products are kind of in the doghouse, but I’ll give this set a respectable (for 5POA) 5 out of 10
