Editor’s Note: This figure is being re-published as Bantha Skull has been conducting a retrospective of all the figures released in support of The Force Unleashed video game.
We recently reviewed the Jungle Felucians, Maris Brood, and Battle Rancor figures. Now that we have some context (something severely lacking with figures from the new media) here again is Shaak Ti to help round out your TFU Felucian display.

Lucasfilm tried and tried and tried to kill off Shaak Ti. At first, there was a cut scene from Revenge of the Sith aboard the Invisible Hand in which Grievous stabs Shaak Ti in the back in front of Obi-Wan and Anakin. As she was later visible alive and well on the Jedi Council, that cut scene was rendered non-canon. A second cut scene has Anakin kill her while she was in the Jedi Temple during Order 66. That death was rendered non-canon by her appearance in The Force Unleashed video game. After being wounded by Marek, she sacrificed herself by jumping into a sarlacc pit, resulting in a beam of Force light emanating from the pit. It was sort of clear that she was dead, but you could still believe she was alive, if you chose to. Well, along came Disney, which de-canonized TFU, and, according to the 2016 book, Star Wars: Galactic Atlas, established the death at the hands of Vader in the temple during Order 66 as Shaak Ti’s canonical death.
The Force Unleashed video game was fairly popular, but there’s no doubt it had a huge impact on collecting. Many figures were made from both TFU and TFU2. Among them, was this Shaak Ti. In the game, Shaak Ti had escaped from Order 66, and survived, hidden, on Felucia. There, she and her apprentice, Maris Brood, continued to train in the Force. The native Felucians were also force sensitive, and, according to canon, the entire planet descended into darkness following Shaak Ti’s death.
So here is this figure, based on Shaak Ti’s appearance in The Force Unleashed. She is the last numbered figure in The Legacy Collection, and was part of the final wave which was released as a Toys R Us exclusive.
The sculpt is excellent, and is true to the TFU look. Much different than her more conservative Jedi attire that we saw in the films, she sports an outfit that is apparently more comfortable in the hot and humid environs of Felucia. (Her apprentice, Maris Brood, also wore much less clothing that was typical for Jedi). The clothing (what little there is of it) is sculpted well onto the figure. There is a very pliable plastic skirt, as well as some loose hanging straps that give depth to the outfit. The legs and feet are wrapped, as are the forearms. The real standout aspect of the figure is the paint job. Along with Shaak Ti’s striking red skin, the detailing on the face and headtails, and the tattoos on her arms and legs, it’s a very eye-catching figure.
The super-articulation is excellent, and the design and material used for the plastic skirt allows for almost a full range of motion of the hips. My figure had some slight balance issues, but with a little work, could be posed in several dynamic positions without falling over. Only one accessory is included, which is a lit lightsaber blade. She can grip the blade in either hand, or both. But due to the slight angle of her left wrist, wielding the lightsaber with both hands is slightly awkward. Nevertheless, the THWG is possible.
The figure is outstanding. It could be improved upon with more modern JLA (Jedi-level Articulation) in the hips, wrists, ankles, or waist. An unlit lightsaber and a belt peg would also be welcome. Nevertheless, such changes would be folly. Considering that it’s already a great figure, and that the source material has been rendered non-canon, this is the best version of the figure that we have any right to expect or ask for. We’ll call it definitive. 8/10.

Like Shaak Ti’s wave mates, this figure goes for stupid prices on eBay. If you can find samples on Ebay, expect to pay around $100 or more. As I’ve said before, re-releasing these specific “Legends” figures in the
