BEST. DARTH. VADER. FIGURE. EVER.

This figure plays the following song.  By that, I do not mean that it has a sound chip that plays music.  Oh no.  I mean that the air molecules surrounding this figure organize themselves and vibrate perfectly to recreate the following song.  It’s out of respect.  You can’t continue the review until you finish listening to the entire song.  The best Darth Vader Figure of all time demands it.

We were discussing this figure with our friends from the swtvc Instagram page, and I decided we needed to remind the universe that this figure exists.  If you are saying to yourself that you wished Hasbro would release a Darth Vader figure with ball jointed shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees and rocker ankles, here’s what you’re going to do:  Get yourself a time machine.  Hop back to 2014, and buy this figure because it has all of that.  Notice that I said 2014, and not 2013 when this figure was first released as #26 - Darth Vader in phase one of the 3.75” Black Series line (orange card).  There is good reason for that.  The 2013 release had a massive flaw with head.  It wouldn’t stay on.  Moving any part of figure could subject it unintended decapitation.  It was a near fatal flaw on an otherwise perfect Darth Vader figure.  Thankfully, Hasbro remedied that issue with this 2014 release.  It didn’t pop off once photographing this figure despite rigorous…posing.

I think the fanbase gets frustrated when Hasbro suffers institutional amnesia over certain aspects of the line’s history.  It feels like Hasbro has collectively forgotten that this figure exists.  When TVC returned it was repack heavy with 3.75” Black Series figures, yet the best version of one of the best selling characters of all time is bypassed.  Nah, that dog don’t hunt.  Something is up with that, and this figure needs to see re-release.  It’s simply too good to not.  I hope Hasbro still has the assets for it.  Say, I wonder what tomorrow’s “Repack Request” will be.

This figure is based on the Revenge of the Sith appearance of Darth Vader.  I think it would just take a new head, and some changes to the paint apps to have this figure do double duty as a definitive Episode V/VI Darth Vader, which is something we desperately need.
