Well, this is the third straight ARC trooper gallery and review at Banthaskull, so apologies if you need to make a complaint to the Department of Redundancy Department.  We already reviewed VC236 ARC Trooper (Lambent Seeker) and VC237 ARC Trooper (Umbra Operative), so now you get to read up on the third installment of this Gaming Greats wave, the VC235 ARC Trooper (Star Wars: Battlefront II).  While the others were both “rare” variant skins in the game, this one was the basic skin that was available to all players at no in-game cost.

While both of the other ARC’s we reviewed had parenthetical names reflecting their personal hobbies - and I don’t normally like to judge; but umbras are for kids and, frankly, I bet I can find a million lambents in no time - this one comes with a parenthetical that indicates the source material.  I might call the Department of Redundancy Department on this guy myself.  I mean, the source is already right in our faces, taking up the top 25% of the card’s real estate.  The “Star Wars” racetrack encircles the Battlefront II video game title that is easily seen by everyone - except for the idiot ARC that’s too busy trying to find lambents. This may be the first figure whose parenthetical is the same as the source logo.  This guy really should have just said “ARC Trooper” without the needless words tacked on.  Or maybe “ARC Trooper (Weird Red Horseshoe Face) would have made more sense.

Anyway, here again is the quick and dirty review of the sculpt:  The figure is great due to the awesome sculpt, paint, articulation, and accessory count.  But it’s short of perfect because of the plastic kama limiting the lower body poses, the rubbery weapons, and the generally loose feel I get from the pauldron assembly that wobbles around too much.

The part that is new, separating it from other figures that use the ARC mold is the paint scheme.  Like the Umbra and Lambent ARC’s, this is a bold design.  In my personal opinion, it’s not quite as interesting as either of the other two, but it’s still pretty cool.  Other than the odd emblem on the helmet, this one seems to fit in a little more organically with other on-screen designs.  And for that reason, some collectors may prefer this one.

None of the three figures have a specific place to be displayed in my collection, nor do I have any real context in which to share any of our “diorama” shots, so again, you get a random shot of this guy leaping from the sidecar of Jesse’s speeder bike in an attempt to separate a battle droid from his STAP.  I hope he knows what he’s doing, because if he doesn’t have Jedi-like reflexes, he might just take himself down along with the droid.  My money’s on him, though, because he’s from Star Wars: Battlefront II; Star Wars: Battlefront II!
