When this figure was first rumored, I thought it would be a neat novelty. It represents the first different take on a Jawa in the Star Wars history, even if it’s just differently colored eyes. I would get one or two for a Mandalorian shelf, but that would be the extent of it. Then Hasbro showed the sizzle reel for the HasLab Razor Crest, and it revealed this shot:
And just like that, I was immediately in the pocket of the Offworld Jawa. As soon as they went up for presale, I ordered an entire case (and true to my spastic collecting paranoia, I was worried it would sell out before I completed my order). See, Hasbro? This is the power of giving us items that interact with one another. The more of the world you bring us, the more of the world we’ll buy. Save the siloed figures for The Black Series. Something should only be brought to the Vintage Collection if it has companion pieces, or there are plans for them in the future. I still want to punch my solitary Knight of Ren in its stupid face.
With that rant out of the way, there’s another piece of business on the periphery of this figure that must be addressed. It’s the elephant in the room. From be behind, the plastic hood bears a striking resemblance to a certain emoji:

Okay, it’s been addressed. Can we all agree not to talk about this ever again?
Jawas, due to their diminutive size are difficult to pack with articulation. I believe this Offworld Jawa is based off of the shorter Jawa from the TBS 3.75” #20 - Jawas 2-pack. That figure had a hard plastic skirt which meant that any articulation in the legs would have been pointless since it would have been restricted. This release features a very well executed soft goods robe, so leg articulation would have been unencumbered, but that type of additional tooling apparently wasn’t in the budget. I’m not too bothered by this because ball joints on short limbs don’t tend to have fantastic range of motion anyway. Plus any dynamic pose would be hidden under the robe anyway. The figure stands well, and that’s really all in need the legs to accomplish in this case.
The arms are articulated with ball jointed shoulders, elbows and swivel wrists. As mentioned with shorter limbs above, despite all the requisite articulation, the arms don’t have enough range of motion to accomplish a natural looking two-handed-weapon-grip (THWG). This is further compounded by the angle of the hands. Getting either of the two larger ionization blasters into a realistic shooting pose ranges from difficult to impossible depending on which one you’re using. This figure interacts better with the pistol, but lacking a floating trigger figure once again breaks the illusion. Since the Jawas on Arvala-7 aren’t seen with any weaponry **, these issues don’t undermine the figure. The articulation does allow the Offworld Jawa to throw its arms up in panic as it flees Din Djarin’s “I will erase you from history” rifle. Once again, that’s good enough for me.
** As Faust points out in the comments, when Mando reaches the top of the Sandcrawler, a group of Jawas do pull out a variety of ionization blasters:
Of course, the star accessory is the included Mudhorn egg, which the figure can passable “hold”, or more accurately, prevent from falling to the ground. It rests in the figure’s arms, but it’s not a grasp. This accessory does allow for the appropriate scene recreation which makes it a notable inclusion. As mentioned earlier, I’m really impressed with the soft goods execution on this figure. I think it looks great, and it’s a shame it couldn’t be done for the VC161 - Jawa released in 2019. That figure received a grade of 7, and I really want to give this figure a higher score to reflect the markedly better aesthetics, but I can’t bring myself to give it an 8. Thus, it retains the same 7 out of 10, but know in your hearts that it’s really a 7+. This is the definitive Offworld Jawa (for now) because it’s hard to imagine Hasbro being able to do much more with the small form factor in the 3.75” scale.
One last thing, I want a HasLab Sancrawler so dank farrik bad that I can taste it.
