Another Saga Collection figure, another repack.  Well, this is actually a kitbash, so a little more effort was put into it.  It uses the body of the Evolutions clone trooper and the belt of the ROTS #41 trooper, and then is painted in the markings of the combat engineer battalion.  As described on the back of the card, this clone trooper was a sub unit of the 38th Armored Division, which served, among other battles, on Kashyyyk.  The colors and patterns seem different that was is depicted in the comics, but they do closely resemble the previously released DVD commemorative pack of 3 pre-posed clone troopers.  So if you got that set, you can now flesh it out with some super-articulated fellow Republic soldiers.  Personally, these clones always remind me of the New Orleans Saints, so I refer to them as the Archie Manning Battalion.

It’s another little known and barely canon clone unit, like the 442nd Siege Battalion and Fifth Fleet Security, so Hasbro was really getting down and dirty to find something to do during this period of extremely heavy repacks/repaints/retools.

It’s a good action figure.  You know it well.  It’s got all the articulation where it counts, and was top shelf during its time.  The paint apps are nice, with enough weathering on the armor to keep things interesting.  A few of these add some nice depth to your Kashyyyk displays - or any display with heavy Republic armor, like the Turbo Tank.  The figure comes with a removable helmet, blaster, display stand, and mini-hologram.

Despite the esoteric nature of this particular clone unit that Hasbro used as a reference, it’s still a nice addition to your collection.  It gets a 7/10.
