Here’s a quick review of a figure that is generally obsolete, but still might maintain some display value in your collection.  This 2006 mold predates the current and ubiquitous VOTC sculpt by a few years, as it first debuted in the 2000 POTJ line as the Chewbacca Millennium Falcon Mechanic.  Here, the figure was changed slightly and included a metal chain that attached to his neck via a mostly hidden thin silver rope.  The chain is long enough to reach the floor, and has a larger ring on the end.  Due to being made of light metal instead of molded plastic, the chain falls naturally due to gravity.  The ring at the end fits easily into the hand, or over the wrist, of your Boushh figure.

The figure itself is certainly very much inferior to the VOTC mold, which was most recently seen as VC141 (15 years after its debut), but it’s not bad enough to be banished from your display out of hand.  It’s only 7POA, and includes a weird swivel at (only) the right elbow.  This was probably meant to help accommodate the welding tool that was included in the first release.  It’s most certainly a better figure than the only other of this specific scene released, which was a somewhat clunky 1998 POTF2 version.

Hasbro has not released a “Boushh’s Prisoner” Chewbacca since this 2000 figure.  As such, this one still has some value.  You could do what Chris did when he took THIS image in our VC134 Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) gallery.  There, he used the VOTC Chewbacca figure, but used the plastic chain “leash” from Bubo.  It looks good in the photo, but In reality, it doesn’t attach to Chewbacca.  So in order to create this look, you have to cannibalize another figure’s accessories.  If you don’t have other accessories to use as the chain, then you would need this figure.

One thing to note is that in ROTJ, Chewbacca had an iron collar to which the chain was attached.  That piece is not reflected in this figure.  You’d have to assume it’s hidden beneath the neck fur.  Also, strangely, Boushh leads “his” prisoner into Jabba’s Palace without any handcuffs.  Maybe Chewbacca could have shown some Wookiee Rage! and ripped a few Gamorrean arms out of their sockets.  Anyway, it’s not the worst Chewbacca figure ever made, and can, barely, still serve a purpose in your Jabba displays.  Perhaps Hasbro will try to get yet more mileage out of the VOTC mold and release a “Boushh’s Prisoner” figure soon.  If so, it would need a screen accurate collar.  Or maybe Hasbro will look to make an all new Chewbacca figure at some point in the near future.
