Yes, this is a Filthy Sixer™ review.  But it makes sense because Jawas are filthy creatures.  I’m a fan of Jawas, so I kind of had to buy this.  That expands my Sixer collection to 5 figures, and 3 of them are jawas.  Well, technically I have 4 figures, plus an extra Jawa on the 40th Anniversary cardback. Oh, also it’s Halloween, so reviewing a creepy and freaky giant-sized jawa seemed appropriate.

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away I reviewed the VC161 Jawa.  Beyond the questionable value, the main criticism I had for Hasbro was that they should have done a soft goods robe to better honor that “Original 12” Kenner figure.  Alas, we merely got a repack of an all plastic figure.

So what about this guy.  I don’t know. I don’t really care.  I just like it because it’s a Jawa.  But to give a little more detail, it seems it’s basically the same figure as the previous plastic version, except the skirt is replaced with an entire soft goods robe.  The upper body is the same (I think), but is completely concealed by the new robe.  There’s a separately sculpted double bandolier, which seems like it could be removable if you’re more adventurous than I.  The articulation is all there, but he range of motion of many of the joints is limited.  It probably didn’t matter much when it had a plastic skirt, but without it, it still has limited range.  The knees, elbows, shoulders, and neck are all limited in some way.  Not like the Jawa needs to be that dynamic, but the limited range is a bit odd.  It wouldn’t have been that hard to correct that.  It’s got ball jointed wrists and rocker ankles, bt can’t really take that much advantage.

Other than the soft goods, the big difference with this figure is the red eyes.  Not sure yet why that’s the case, perhaps there’s something in the Tatooine air that keeps the eyes golden, and then off world, they change to red.  Sounds good to me.

The robe itself is pretty good, and has some nice shmata qualities that seem appropriate for this filthy creature.

Anyway, if you like 6” crap, you’d probably like this guy.  But then you’d be as filthy as he is.
