This Celebration Chicago (2019) exclusive Obi-Wan Kenobi features a 6” scale homage to the original Episode I card to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the The Phantom Menace. The card features a chromium appearance similar to the comic book cover fad of the nineties, while the poorly received CommTech chip is not present. The figure itself is identical to the Obi-Wan Kenobi figure that will be released in the Black Series main line later in the year.

Obi-Wan is an all new figure, and was a wise choice to be released with Darth Maul in this exclusive format.  It’s a good thing to have the pair released together like this, as they do make a nice display for your weirdly oversized action figure collection.  If you’re thinking of only getting the Maul, you have to understand that these figures are like Shoe and Shoelace.  Since both are going to be released at regular retail (Obi-Wan in the main BS6, Maul in the Archive line) the main draw here is the exclusive packaging.  It’s pretty sweet, and even includes the “Jedi Points” coupon on the back.  (Yes!  This was a real thing and the points were redeemable!  I got an Ephant Mon figure with mine, you non-believing fools!)  It’s just a shame that it doesn’t include a giant comm-tech chip.  That would have been…awesome.

A huge thank you to Litzky PR for sending us this sample.
