Another entry in the Star Tours multipack sub-line, this one may very well be the weakest of the bunch.  Sector 2 Security contains C-3PO (for the second time in a Star Tours pack), and 2 repaints of previously released single carded Tours figures.

C-3PO is a “repaint” of the still pretty decent TSC figure (with Ewok Throne).  This figure was awesome at the time of release, and has held up fairly well over time - especially if you can find the variant with the properly painted knees.  The hinged knees were a revelation at the time of release.  Better protocol molds exist, but this may be the best one that is vac-metalized.  Which brings up the reason for the quotations around “repaints” in the first sentence of this paragraph.  The coloring of the vac-metal finish is markedly different from previous releases of this mold.  I’m not sure what Hasbro was going for here, but it’s definitely weird.

The G2 Droid was initially released as a single carded figure back in 2002 in POTJ packaging when Star Tours-inspired figures debuted.  That figure was known as G2-4T.  It was later repainted as G2-9T in blue Saga packaging in the second wave of Star Tours figures.  This one is such a lazy “repaint” that they couldn’t even bother naming it.  It’s just a generic “G2 Droid.”  He’s the head of security for Sector 2, so if you’re a fan of the TSA, this is a must have.  He comes with another one of those opening suitcases that seem to be prevalent in these sets.  If you liked Short Circuit, I guess you’ll like this guy.

RX Droid is also a repaint from a figure released in the first Star Tours wave in 2002.  That figure, RX-24 was known as “Captain Rex”.  Obviously Filoni has since given that name to a totally different character.  The design doesn’t come across as particularly Star Warsy, but at best, you can look at it as a kind of a cross between an FX medical droid and an astromech.  Whatever.

The set isn’t much to write home about.  For $35 you got 3 droid repaints, and one accessory.  Not Hasbro’s best offering.
