$39.99.  $39.99!  No, it’s not as awesome as the $29.99 retail price of the 2010 TLC (Red) TFU 5-pack set 1 and set 2.  But it’s still a great price.  As perspective, we are all currently painfully aware of the over $50 price tag for the Luke Legacy 3-pack from TVC.  $39.99 for collector quality figures is a steal.  This set included 3 new figures, 1 figure that is a retool of one of those new figures, and one repaint of another figure.  It’s another cool set in Hasbro’s The Force Unleashed extravaganza.

EVO Trooper

The EVO Trooper is a repaint of the basic TAC 08-09 Imperial EVO Trooper figure from 2008.  The sculpt and accessories are the same.  The figure is super-articulated and reasonably posable. The head’s range of motion is limited by the hoses when attached, but you can remove them to allow more movement if you wanted.  The figure is different in the paint applications.  This time the EVO Trooper is completely clean, and lacks the dirt boots and shins of the basic version.  The pistols (which aren’t gripped well) are black, as is the entirety of the blaster rifle, including the strap.  It’s a nice, if not perfect, variant.

Darth Phobos

I had not even remembered this (shocking news!) until I was researching Phobos on Wikipedia, but apparently the level that featured her was only part of the versions for the Playstation 2, the Playstation Portable, and the Wii.  I only played the game on an Xbox 360.  In fact, as I’ve said recently, I bought the 360 as my first console in about 15 years just to play The Force Unleashed.  So I guess I never actually saw this character, and can only assume I had no idea who she was when I bought this set back in 2011.  So it’s an interesting choice for a figure.  Only gamers who played those versions ever saw her.  It certainly didn’t stop me from buying the set, and I thought she was one of the more intriguing figures in the entire TFU lineup.  The figure is super-articulated, with the exception of ankles.  However, somehow it was produced with an outstanding center of balance, and you can coax plenty of action poses out of it, despite the lack of ankles.  The colors and the tiger stripe pattern on the skin are striking.  The figure is well sculpted, and interacts well with her double-bladed lightsaber.  She also happens to be one of the Theelin species, as is Rystáll Sant (a human-theelin hybrid, actually) from Jabba’s palace.

Starkiller

This is one of the duller figures made of Galen Marek/Starkiller. It looks nice, but the lower body articulation is severely and frustratingly limited by the plastic skirt.  The figure has plenty of range of motion out of the articulation points in the upper body, however.  Starkiller can hold the included lightsaber in a number of ways, including a basic THWG.  The face sculpt is decent, as are the textures and colors of the outfit and armor.  In addition to the lightsaber, the other accessory is a plastic hooded cape.  It’s executed fairly well, and is sculpted to drape over the head and down the length of the body realistically.  Starkiller looks dark and brooding under the hood.  An unfortunate oversight by Hasbro was the failure to include an unlit hilt accessory, even though a peg hole was sculpted into the belt.  That would have helped make up for the poor range of motion of the legs.  A decent figure, but definitely far from the best of the many Hasbro has done of this character.

Imperial Navy Commando Officer

The Imperial Navy Commando is one of the other new figures in the set.  It’s a stormtrooper variant that was introduced by the video game.  While the helmet is stormtrooper-like, the body is somewhat reminiscent of a scout trooper, or perhaps even a Scarif Stormtrooper.  He is loaded with pouches and whatnots, along with the removable shoulder pauldron.  The figure has an antenna on the right side of the helmet, something you rarely see on stormtrooper-type figures.  There is a removable backpack, which fits well into the puzzle-piece-shaped slot in the back of the torso. It’s reasonably tight, but it will fall off as you attempt to get the figure posed.  The blaster is a standard clone-trooper type, which is a bit odd.  The figure looks cool, and for fans of imperial trooper variants, this is a must have.

Imperial Navy Commando

The final figure in the pack is a simple retool of the aforementioned commando officer.  Aside from the lack of a pauldron, the figure has a slightly retooled helmet, as it is lacking the antennae that is included on the officer figure.  These are the only two releases of the Navy Commando trooper type, and it’s nice that Hasbro offered them in the same set as variants of each other.  They display well in your “just off screen” set up of Imperials.
