Yesterday we reviewed Passel Argente.  That figure was a straight repaint of an unimpressive figure from 2002, hastily brought to market by Hasbro to help satisfy consumer demand.  It’s the same character, but painted to better represent his ROTS appearance, and had a burn/slash mark on his chest to indicate the damage done by Anakin.

This figure is nearly the same situation, with a few key differences.  It is also a straight repaint of a relatively unimpressive figure from 2002 for the same reason mentioned above.  However, this time it’s an all new character. The original sculpt was Shu Mai, the Presidente (yep, that’s correct) of the Commerce Guild.  This time, Hasbro decided to give us Cat Miin, Shu Mai’s aide.  Both were present on Geonosis and on Mustafar.  Cat Miin even had her own show back in the 60’s:

I was happier about this release than the second Passel Argente precisely because it’s a debut character.  The figure has slightly better articulation than Argente.  This sculpt has a ball jointed head, but sacrifices one swivel elbow (her left).  She has swivel shoulders and a left elbow.  that’s it.  She’s almost as much of a statue as Argente, but at least her weird reverse knees and hooves are more interesting the then his boring humanoid feet.  And her head sculpt is a lot more intriguing.  Still, it’s not a great figure, and “suffers” from the same “slashed” problem as Argente.  Perhaps a bit worse, she can’t be posed with her arms in such a way as to cover up the slash, so you’re stuck with that.  My figure has some difficulty standing unassisted, so maybe she was meant to be dead on the shelf anyway.

Cat Miin also comes with the cartoon-ish fiery Mustafar base, which is her only accessory.

A better looking figure, poseable head, and a character debut allow this figure to have enough momentum to put it above Argente’s 4/10.

5 Stars.
5/10 Banthaskulls.
