Shaak Ti never got her on-screen death in ROTS.  Two different death scenes were shot and at least partially completed.  First, Obi-Wan and Anakin were filmed seeing Shaak Ti impaled in the back by Grievous on board the Invisible Hand, in which she was being held prisoner.  This makes only partial sense when viewed alongside the (canon at the time) Tartakovsky Clone Wars Microseries.  In that series, Shaak Ti was defending Palpatine from capture on Coruscant (including one of my favorite Star Wars moments when Roronn Corobb frantically pushes the elevator button as Grievous approaches).  The problem here is that after being overpowered, Shaak Ti was left behind alive on Coruscant as Grievous escaped with Palpatine as his prisoner.

A second death scene was intended with Shaak Ti meditating in her quarters in the Jedi Temple as the clones were executing Order 66.  Anakin walked into the room, and and stabbed an unprepared Shaak Ti in the back.  This version also never made it to the final film.  Perhaps Lucas felt it was unlike Shaak Ti to be meditating while the temple was under attack, or perhaps he felt it was just a superfluous scene.  In Filoni’s The Clone Wars animated series, Yoda has a vision of future events, and one of the things he sees is Shaak Ti being stabbed in the back.

Later, also in a canon-at-the-time source, Shaak Ti was in exile on Felucia in the video game The Force Unleashed.  She was eventually killed after dueling Starkiller.  This was her canon death until the Disney takeover.  Following the timeline reboot, Yoda’s TCW vision has been adopted as Ti’s canon death, and essentially puts her back in the situation of being found by Anakin at the Temple during Order 66.  The circle is now complete.

While Shaak Ti was essentially cut from ROTS (aside from a few non-speaking frames as a hologram in the Jedi Council room), we have her figure - again, presumably based on early intel provided to them by LFL.  The figure isn’t bad.  Hasbro seemed to put a little extra effort into the Jedi figures in the ROTS line.  The sculpt is pretty nice.  Articulation includes ball jointed head (limited range due to the head tails), shoulders, and knees, and swivel right elbow, right forearm, waist, and hips.  No ankles…yadda yadda yadda…useless lower body articulation.  The weird choice here was to skip any elbow or forearm/wrist articulation to the left arm, which is permanently sculpted into a 90 degree bend at the elbow.

The figure is a bit difficult to balance because the skirt is longer than the legs.  But interestingly, the extra long tabard ends up being an extra support if you position it certain ways.  The paint detailing is quite good, with some nice effort put on the face and head tail, even a little ombré action on the top.  (I learned that from HGTV).  The outfit is nicely detailed, especially the tabard.  The soft goods skirt allows some (mostly useless) range of motion of the leg articulation, and is made of an unusual material that would be appropriate for a good shmata.

For accessories, Ti comes with a hilt (that plugs into her belt) as well as a hateful removable blade.  There’s also a small data pad, which looks like the Star Wars version of an old flip phone.  I have no idea what this is supposed to be.  Perhaps she wasn’t sure what to do as the clones attacked the temple, and decided to phone a friend since she already used her 50/50.  Whatever the purpose, she can sort of balance the data pad in her open left palm, and it is unique to this figure.  And finally, she comes with the common environmental base depicting a ship/hallway.

Overall, it’s a nice figure, but definitely a product of 2005.  Fortunately, Shaak Ti was improved with the TLC Geonosis Arena two-packs, but she can absolutely stand a modern TVC update, although I’m not certain if her AOTC and ROTS outfits are different.
5/10.
