The “Celebrate the Saga” packs were misnamed.  They should have been called “Celebrate the Death of 5POA.”  Despite the apparent end of the 5POA figures during The Last Jedi run, Hasbro has managed to regurgitate a few figures in various formats.  Nobody asked for these, but at least a few of the 8 multi-packs contained some newness that could interest a few hardcore 3.75” collectors. Unfortunately, none of that newness is in this particular set of figures from the Rebel Alliance.  Nevertheless, I’ve typed some stuff below by angrily mashing the keyboard of my laptop for a few minutes.

R2-D2

This is a repack from a Rebels era 2-pack.  It’s not a particulary good version of R2-D2, and considering that we’ve gotten much better ones in the 5POA lines, let alone TVC, this one is a bummer.  It’s poorly articulated, but it does have a little retractable claw, which could be used to fight with Yoda over Luke’s flashligh (or “torch”, for you non-American speaking weirdos.). It’s barely worth your attention.

Luke Skywalker

A strange inclusion, as it’s the only figure obviously not from The Empire Strikes Back.  Its another terrible figure that serves no purpose in your collection.  It has an upgraded Photo Real application that is a big improvemet over the first release, but fails to bring anything else worthwhile to the table.

Chewbacca

Hasbro used the 5POA sequel trilogy version of Chewbacca here.  It’s probably the worst figure of the bunch.  The still awesome VOTC sculpt, which is still being used today in TVC, completely crushes this one.  If you have the sequel era SA figure from the Galaxy’s Edge Millennium Falcon, then you definitely don’t need to dwell on this one any longer.

Han Solo

Another repack, Han has an upgraded face paint application.  Again, the Photo Real is quite good. But even the almost 10 year old TVC figure of Bespin Han makes this one look like a waste of plastic.  You should move on.

Princess Leia

When this figure originally came out in the Solo line, many people said it was better than the TVC figure from 2010.  Those people should be cancelled immediately.  Like the TVC re-release, this one has an upgraded photo real face.  It’s nice for what it is:  lipstick on a pig.

We shall speak no more of this set.  We apologize for taking your time.
