As the rebels are getting their X-wings ready to attack, several pilots are shown in their cockpits.  Besides Luke, they all have identical helmets with 2 blue Rebel Logos.  They are also wearing dark visors to show that they have attitude.  Is one of those pilots Wenton Chan?  Maybe.  His identity was based on a Decipher card, but I’m not sure that the image isn’t actually one of the three “generics” whose faces we see.  Most likely Bren Quersey.  At some point Wenton was designated as Red 11, but he’s not seen during the actual battle.  His death was assumed.

With the EU reboot, Wenton Chan was changed to a non-participant.  I haven’t read that yet, so I can’t say if it was due to injury or coach’s decision.  Wenton Chan is literally a generic Rebel pilot.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing.  Those who are inclined might have a legitimate reason to army-build him.  Not me, but there are some pretty sick collectors out there.
