Desanne is an Imperial officer.  There’s not much more we can say about him.  He was apparently involved in making sure Darth Vader got to his shuttle OK.  Sometimes Vader would get confused and wander around the parking lot for hours trying to remember where he parked before realizing that he didn’t drive there.  Then he’d get embarrassed and kill everyone.  So Desanne’s job was to stop that from happening again.

Desanne ranks a solid third on the list of Imperial Officers from Cloud City that should have action figures.  That sounds impressive until you realize that there are only three.  It’s not his fault.  He’s just completely forgettable.  So much so that I can’t even confirm if he was still in the film after the special edition changes.  It’s not worth my time to check.
