Corman Quien probably wasn’t too fond of how callously Han Solo treated his tauntaun. Quein was valued by the rebellion for his work with animals, so I think it’s a safe bet we can assume he was an animal lover. Had he known that Solo would ride his tauntaun until it was a Popsicle and then use it’s abdominal cavity as an igloo, Corman probably would have tried to get him to ride C-3PO out into the frozen wasteland instead.
Prior to having received a proper name, this character was referred to simply as the “tauntaun handler” as he was seen preparing Solo’s steed for the search and rescue mission. The candidates for untapped Episode V figures are rapidly dwindling and the the tauntaun handler has frequently placed well on wishlist polls. Given that this figure wouldn’t be much more than a head swap of the Vintage Collection Echo Base Trooper, it seems like an easy and logical figure for Hasbro to make. We have the companion pieces that go with this figure so we are just waiting on Corman Quein to complete this particular Echo Base scene.
