Tamizander Rey is the source of the “Deck Officer” label, which is to say that Han Solo called him that instead of using his name. I have no idea where his current name came from (probably Decipher), but I think it’s a safe bet that JJ Abrams had him in mind when he constructed the backstory for Rey. We all look forward to his glorious return in The Rise of Skywalker.

Tamizander Rey is a possible match for the Vintage Rebel Soldier. Kenner interpretations are squishy, so it’s hard to say, but ol’ Tamizander is probably a closer match than Cal Alder (the model for the existing Vintage Collection figure). Tamizander has a hanging tan scarf, while the vintage figure lacks a hanging scarf altogether, so it’s hard to say for sure. But there is at least one grainy old promo shot where Tamizander’s vest looks kind of orange, which matches the vintage figure.
