We’re Off On The Road To Rhode Island Comic Con

This weekend is Rhode Island Comic Con. It starts at 3PM today and runs through Sunday. If you would like to get more information or buy tickets, CLICK HERE for the official RICC page. Mr. Miko and I will be heading there on Saturday to take in the sights and sounds. If you jumped here from the front page you know that I teased a big Star Wars name, and I did not lie. One of the Droids voice actors will be in attendance! Oh yeah, and he was also in all eleven Star Wars movies:


Anthony Daniels, one of the mains, will be there signing autographs. I'm pretty sure I would have cried as I never met Carrie Fisher at a convention. I hope I don't get overwhelmed seeing C-3PO. But Daniels is merely the biggest Star Wars name for this year's Rhode Island Comic Con. Here Are the rest:

Those are just the Star Wars names. The complete list of Celebrity Guests can be found HERE, and it's long. Both Newman (NEWMAN!) and Cousin Eddie are going to be there. That's almost overwhelming for me.

Their slogan "the BIGGEST show in the smallest state" isn't false advertising. This convention is massive. It occupies an entire arena plus the massive adjoining exhibition hall. It's easily a couple of hours just taking in all the vendor areas. Speaking of which, I'll be on the hunt for a few things. If I find a really minty loose small head Han for a decent price, I'll have to own it. Ditto for a vintage farm boy Luke. I won't be actively looking for anything from the modern lines, but you never know what will catch your eye until you get there. As far as the comic side goes, I'll be on the lookout for a Star Wars #8 9.8 WP (again for a good price). I really want to add the first appearance of the bunny to my collection.
