Finn has notoriously been a weak seller. Hasbro has a big challenge ahead of it to manufacture a Finn figure that can sustain consumer interest. Unfortunately, while this is not a terrible figure, it’s probably not going to be enough to succeed, unless Hasbro limits production and carry forwards.
Finn is a simple 5POA, including a ball jointed neck. He comes with a large weapon. The colors of his uniform, like most of his Reistance colleagues, is fairly drab.
Pros: While not exactly the spitting image of John Boyega, it’s a reasonable face sculpt at this scale - better than Poe. The paint application is pretty sharp, if bland. The sculpt of the uniform, is sufficiently detailed. His jacket is a separate piece, and looks well done. He stands solidly, and holds the included weapon firmly.
Cons: This is the first figure I have come across where the Force Link audio is of poor quality. I had to listen a few times to some of the lines to understand them. The weapon has no paint details (like most of the blasters in the line). He’s simply a dull figure.
As usual, we start with our baseline of 5. Finn meets the requirements of a decent 5POA figure, but lacks almost any appealing design aesthetic. Finn gets a very unenthusiastic 5. Here’s hoping he doesn’t clog the pipeline.
