Here’s another Comic Pack from The Legacy Collection. Again, we’ve obtained a carded sample from the curated collection of Mr. Randy. While not nearly as coveted as the Ulic/Exar set, the comic packs, for the most part, have aged well as far as secondary market value - if not the actual figures themselves. A carded set of these 2 can probably be had for around $60-ish.
The figures, of course, are from the old Expanded Universe. From Wookieepedia:
Princess Isplourrdacartha Estillo of Eiattu 6, known as Plourr Ilo for short, was a Human female member of the royal family of her homeworld, the capital of Ado sector in the Mid Rim, who was exiled and became a warrior in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and then went back to rule.
Dllr Nep was a Force-sensitive Sullustan X-wing pilot who served under Wedge Antilles as part of Rogue Squadron following the Battle of Endor.
I know nothing about these two, other than they were part of Rogue Squadron. A quick word search of their Wookieepedia articles barely makes mention of the other in their respective entries. I would gather that they didn’t have much of a connection beyond being teammates in the squadron. It seems their respective storylines were relatively independent of each other. I don’t know if that’s actually the case, but Hasbro could have chosen these 2 for the pack based on convenience of available tooling more than anything else. They both re-used an existing pilot buck, but changed their head sculpts and helmets.
Both figures share the same base body, which was nice at the time, but is now thoroughly outclassed. As mentioned before, the TVC Luke X-Wing figure is the best available, but has since been rendered out of date because of the lack of rocker ankles and the newest hip articulation. Again, I would take this opportunity to implore Hasbro to fix this before making any more re-use of that figure. As it is, these 2 figures are super-articulated, but each point of articulation is outclassed by their modern counterparts. There is also an annoying lean to the Plourr figure, in particular, which seems to be quite common from figures of this era.
The best part about the Dllr Nep figure is the Sullustan headsculpt, with a goatee. The helmet is also unique and fits perfectly. The worst part of New is the lack of a holster for his blaster. He also struggles to hold the blaster in either hand. Plourr is notable for her distinctive bald head, but sadly the re-used helmet is waaay too big and wobbles all over the place. At least she has a holster, and she can grip the blaster reasonably well.
Overall, it’s a mildly interesting pair of EU figures, but at the very least, they serve the purpose of expanding diversity in the Rebel pilot ranks. The figures themselves are a bit frustrating, but not unexpectedly so for 15+ year-old figures based on even older pilot bucks. They could benefit from an update, but the necessity of such an effort barely registers.
