Meena Tills was a senator from Mon Cala, who served alongside the Quarren Tundra Dowmeia (who replaced Tikkes, after he joined the Separatist cause), can be seen briefly in a few shots when Palpatine is greeted after his return from Grievous’s flagship.  I always thought that Meena Tills was male, and this belief was backed up by the text on the back of the card (see image #2 above).  The actor in costume was male as well.  The character was later changed to female.  And before anyone reading this assumes it’s some kind “woke” nonsense, Wookieepedia states that the senator was originally named after Lucasfilm employee Tina Mills, so when Dave Filoni ended up featuring the character in several episodes of The Clone Wars, it was decided that she should be female, as was her namesake.  So there you go.  Everyone just calm down!

Like yesterday’s Ask Aak, we have another deep background Senator.  And again, the figure is quite nice for what it is, but not without a few warts.  The overall sculpt is excellent, with excellent detail carved into the intricate senatorial garb.  The face is expressive, with particularly intricate painted veiny lines all over the head. The coloring is unique and is enough to have the figure stand out in a diorama without being to garish.  I think the dark “wash” is a bit overdone, as it almost looks like Tills was doused in old motor oil.

The articulation is limited, with a ball jointed head (limited range), ball jointed shoulders, swivel elbows and swivel wrists.  The rest of the body is more or less a salt shaker.  With the ball jointed shoulders, you have more range than with Ask Aak, but testing this range to the limits results in the silly looking pose from image #12.  This is due to the long sleeves/cuffs that are sculpted onto the arms.  It looks nice when posed neutrally, but engaging the shoulders in any meaningful way ruins the look.  The swivel cut above the elbow doesn’t help much either, but you can do the ol “Senator Gesture” standby pose, and it looks good.

The figure comes with a blaster pistol.  It’s not nearly as ridiculous as Ask Aak’s rifle, and is more in line with a small sidearm that was similarly worn by Bail Organa (representing the planet that has no weapons).  She holds the blaster fairly well, but sadly there is no holster to secure it when she’s not waving it around menacingly at other senators, as she is wont to do.  Also included is the ol “ship floor” stand, which is super exciting!

I don’t know if this is typical of the figure, or if my sample just sucks, but the ankles are warped slightly in such a way Tills leans forward severely, and then tips over - if I can even get it to stand unassisted.  I was forced to suffer the indignity of using a stand to assist with the photos.  Yes, I could have used the included “puzzle” piece, but this would be too distracting, so I used the small clear stand instead for most of the shots.  Standing is a pre-requisite for a figure to score higher than zero.  I believe I only had to award such a score one time

I am loathe to do the same here, because it is otherwise a really nice figure for the day, and still works in a diorama.  Also, I’m not sure if it’s just a one off with my sample.  As with Ask Aak, we could certainly do better today, but meager resources would make a resculpt to be a nonsensical ask (aak) of Hasbro.  As such, I hereby declare it “definitive”.  But the standing thing brings it down a peg.  If I read in your comments that this is a widespread issue, I may have to adjust the score to something significantly lower.

5 Stars.
