5/10 Bantha Skulls

5 out of 10, despite the fact that Wedge is a steaming pile of [insert animal] poop.  Wedge appears to be wearing some sort of dress uniform.  Totally unlike anything I am accustomed to seeing in Alliance fashion.  His face sculpt is, well, meh.  The paint is simple.  He has a holster that holds his weapon well, and he can also grip the weapon in either hand nicely.  Unfortunately, this somewhat uninspiring figure falls on its face because it was given the dreaded TAC Clone Trooper in Training Fatigues legs.  The same legs that were used for each of the brightly colored trainees in the Crimson Empire Crucible multipack that was recently released.  Horrible.  Wedge’s hard plastic skirt/tunic prevents leg movement, which is essentially useless anyway, because of both the lack of ankle articulation and the awkward stance.

Borsk is the first Bothan figure by Hasbro.  Some fans seem to be having fits over this choice of representation, as the Bothans have been shown in various forms throughout the EU.  As it is, I rather like the sculpt.  It’s detailed, and has a lot of personality.  The uniform has some nice stitching detail.  Borsk is super articulated, save for the cut joint elbows.  His head is sculpted in such a way that there is very little movement (think Chewbacca).  The holster holds the pistol tightly, as does his hand.  It’s not the greatest figure, but it’s interesting enough, it’s the first Bothan, and I think it could fit into a Rebel Briefing diorama, even though this character was not in ROTJ.

So, Wedge is crap, and Borsk is pretty cool.  Take your chances....
