Major Variants

*First Day of Issue foil stickers were added to assortments of The Legacy Collection Wave 1 and The Clone Wars Wave 1 figures.  Each figure exists with and without the sticker.  Also, the “Star Wars” logo on the front of the FDOI cards has a metallic finish.

Notes
*Unlike The Legacy Collection which has codes for the numbering system (BD, GH, SL), The Clone Wars line is numbered simply:  No. 1, No. 2, etc…

Fun with Action Figures!

5/10 Bantha Skulls

This is a decent looking figure, I admit, despite not liking this animated line.  Its sculpt certainly seems to do a pretty good job of replicating the animated on-screen character.  The sculpt is a little simpler, or more stremlined, than the realistically styled figures, which again, matches the animation style.

The paint is very good.  The clone armor is very nicely weathered.  This is something I would like to see taken over to the realistic line.  His robes have a worn look, thanks to a nice paint wash over them.

Obi comes with a standard lightsabe, interchangeable heads, and a rocket-firing backpack.  The backpack is a typical kid-oriented feature.  I don’t know yet how this plays into the story, but it’s a big goofy rocket on his back.  The heads are okay, it’s a change from the standard hollow helmet.  I guess this eliminates “oversized helmet syndrome.”

Animated-style aside, which you will either like or not like, this figure has no knee or ankle articulation which is a big problem in my book.  Just means that if the line lasts long enough, he will be resculpted, so you’ll end up with this crappier version in your collection.

It’s a 5/10 - good for the look, paint, and so-so accessories; bad for the lack of leg articulation.
